An absorbent article, said article comprising: a fluid-permeable nonwoven topsheet located on the wearer-facing side thereof, said nonwoven topsheet comprising a plurality of channels arranged side-by-side, at a location of each channel the non-woven topsheet is separated into an upper layer and a lower layer with a corresponding channel formed therebetween, wherein at least one end of at least one channel extends in a direction to the furthest extent of the article in said direction, and wherein the plurality of channels are configured to provide ventilation of the absorbent article by allowing gas to pass in and out of the plurality of channels.
